Outdoor Activity Instructor Traineeship
“Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing – absolutely nothing – half as much worth doing as simply messing about in boats” – Ratty from Wind in the Willows
Now, picture this scene from your memory –
You are out in the hills, or on the rock, or on the water, having a moment of sheer excitement of just being able to be in the outdoors enjoying an activity that brings you joy.
So many of us, either now or in the past, have had that moment, and I am sure so many of you have said to yourself – “I wish I could do this as a job”.
That is what our Outdoor Activity Instructor Traineeship course is all about. Run in conjunction between ourselves and Kerry College, it is a full-time 47 week course that brings you from having enthusiasm for the outdoors – you might have some experience in some of the activities, but not necessarily – to a place where you have experience and qualifications to start working in the growing industry that is the outdoors.
Based in what is the best location in Ireland. County Kerry has an abundance of mountains, cliffs, lakes, rivers and coastline that is suited to everyone from beginner to expert, which we use as our outdoor classroom. And no, the weather is not as bad as you think, “There is no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather” – John Ruskin.
