Changes at Kerry Education Service

Mr Colm McEvoy, current CEO in County Cavan VEC, has been appointed as the permanent CEO to Kerry Education and Training Board (ETB) from the commencement of the new ETB. This appointment is as a result of the Department of Education and Skills decision to amalgamate VEC’s nationally and reduce the numbers from 33 to 16. Over the last few months the DES have been appointing CEO Designates to the new 16 ETB entities from the list of permanent CEO’s already in the system. As of the 1st July Kerry Education Service will be known as Kerry Education and Training Board. The current acting CEO Ms. Ann O Dwyer will hand over the reigns to Colm McEvoy and she will revert back to her previous role as Education Officer. Ann O Dwyer has been acting CEO since Dr. Barney O Reilly’s retirement in 2011.
