Cappanalea OEC is uniquely located to offer a wide range of mountaineering challenges and adventures. Whether you wish to be guided along beautiful sections of the Kerry way or challenged on scrambling routes up Corrán Tuathail, our qualified staff will be cater for your needs. Below are a selection of the various courses we offer. Of course if what you wish to do is not listed then please contact the office and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Strict emphasis is placed upon safety and the low student / instructor ratio in the high mountains ensures an enjoyable and quality experience.

Hillwalking
Come and enjoy the beautiful countryside and mountains of Kerry. With our qualified instructors you can really enjoy a number of walks in and around the McGillicuddy Reeks. From our bank of experience we can help choose a number of walks to satisfy all levels.

Mountain Skills
When you decide you would like to start becoming independent in the hills, you can rely on our experienced instructors to guide you through the official Mountain Skills syllabus and prepare you for the first stage in Mountaineering Qualifications in Ireland.

At Cappanalea our ratios for MS1 and MS2 are 1:6. These courses are run whenever demand allows. If a group of 6 contact us directly for training then discounts can be arranged.

Mountain Leader
Mountain Leader is the required qualification for guiding in Ireland and we will run courses and assessments according to demand. Cappanalea run one series of Mountain Leader Training a year.
Qualified Mountain Leaders are employed on staff and are readily available to lead expeditions into the mountains. To book a qualified Mountain Leader contact info@cappanalea.ie
Cappanalea OEC run expeditions into the mountains involving the broad spectrum of mountaineering skills. The Centre provides the expertise and the equipment to run wilderness camping / navigation courses. These specialised courses or organised to meet the demands of specific requests.
