Field Studies

All of the Cappanalea OEC field studies programmes are run through our sister centre Killarney National Parks Education Centre. This Centre run under the auspices of Cappanalea is a joint venture between Kerry Education Service and the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

KNPEC run a wide number of environmental courses, focusing upon the unique flora and fauna of our special part of the world.  Courses are geared towards both children and adults including our Junior Ranger Programme and the Spring Environmental School.

There are specific school programmes which are targeted towards primary science; junior science; biology; ecology and geography.  There is an annual primary school teacher's in-service run at KNPEC as are courses for 3rd Level students specialising in environmental and the natural science.
